Variation and Similarity

Medical device design often relies on limited population data, often using single examples of a tissue, or even plastic models of a single individual.

Many tissues exhibit similarities in shape across the human population, however there are usually also important variations, perhaps caused by lifestyle or genetics. Imorphics’ models are well suited to the study of populations of almost all tissues, and consideration of whether differences exist which should be accounted for within medical device design, or surgical planning.
